Call 999 if you or anyone else is in immediate danger, or 111 to speak to the Crisis Team if you need urgent support with your mental health.
Our ‘Helplines and Other Support’ page features a range of organisations that are there for you to use whether you’re in crisis, need to talk to someone, or if you could use some advice and guidance.
Concerned about someone?
There are unfortunately many situations where people can be subjected to neglect or abuse.
If you’re worried about someone, it’s always best to put your mind at ease by reaching out for advice.
If the person is in immediate danger, call 999. Remember to say an ‘adult with needs for care and support’ or a ‘vulnerable adult’ is involved.
For other concerns, call Social Care Direct on
03000 26 79 79.
An officer will listen carefully to what you say, give advice and make a safeguarding referral if necessary, even if you wish to remain anonymous. The officer will take prompt action if the adult is in immediate danger.
