Volunteer Opportunities

The Durham Mental Wellbeing Alliance organisations have a wide variety of opportunities for volunteering. Get involved and help us to improve mental health in County Durham!

Waddington Street Centre is currently looking for a range of volunteers to help with: Admin, support work and leading groups and activities. We cover travel expenses and offer flexible hours.

For more info or an informal chat, please contact Dave Boyd at dboyd@waddingtoncentre.co.uk

Volunteers play a vital role here at St Margaret’s Centre. As a small charity with only seven members of staff, there are certain aspects of our service that simply wouldn’t be able to run without the support of people who are kind enough to donate their time and expertise.

Whether you’re a baker, barista, woodworker, crafter, or a good chatter – whatever your background, we would love to hear from you!

We are committed to providing our volunteers with a meaningful experience that benefits them as much as their time benefits us. As well as making a difference to a vital community resource in the heart of Durham, this is a great opportunity to gain experience of working as part of a small but dedicated team. You will meet people from a wide variety of backgrounds, and learn how we support them with a diverse range of activities, support, and training. Volunteers will receive an Induction and role-specific training where required, and we provide ongoing support as well as offering opportunities for extra training to help you carry out your role.
