If U Care Share Foundation provide bespoke practical and emotional support to those impacted by suicide in County Durham. Unfortunately there are no easy solutions to the difficult situations and trying times you may face. The mixture of bewilderment, sadness, anger and uncertainty are feelings common to those affected by suicide, unfortunately most people affected don’t know this. The If U Care Share Foundation service is provided by professionals who have personal experience with suicide, offering a safe environment to discuss your bereavement at a time and via a method you feel most comfortable with. We can offer person centred care though telephone, email and outreach appointments either at home or a mutually convenient venue.
If U Care Share was started after a young man called Daniel took his own life in 2005. Since then we have supported thousands of people across the region with the aim of preventing suicide and stopping anyone feeling how we felt when we lost Daniel. We understand the loss of a loved one to suicide is like no other death, the physical and emotional impacts are devastating. The effects of this can go out far and wide affecting families and communities in various different ways. Along with this we know that suicidal bereavements are like fingerprints, they are unique for everyone affected and everyone will grieve differently.
Feedback from a service user in Durham – “I just wanted to say a massive thank you. You have been supporting me since January when I lost my husband, his inquest was today. This past week and especially today was the hardest I’ve known. Even more so than when it happened. You have been there for me all the time and you were physically with me today even in these strange times. I don’t know what I would have done without you.”
